IC asked:

As it sometimes happen, we see a piece of clothing which grabs our attention due to its material, texture or patters but for some reason it’s the wrong size so we can’t buy it, other times we might be a little short on the “money department” which makes it impossible to buy designer clothing. All of these problems could easily be solved if only you knew how to sew. By learning this useful skill anyone can customize his/her wardrobe as well as those special items around the house; and just like many people who know how to sew can tell us, sewing your own clothing and other items can be significantly less expensive compared to buying them in stores.

Taking all of these factors in consideration we arrive to the conclusion that learning how to sew is important, especially if “fashion” is your thing, the steps and tips shown below can help you get started:

- The very first step for beginners involves getting acquainted with all of the sewing tools which will be used to modify and create pieces of clothing, a good way of doing just that is by either buying a used sewing machine or by borrowing one from a friend, if you happen to have the manual handy it is highly recommended to read it entirely, make sure to specially read the parts about safety steps since the last thing you want to do is hurt yourself while using one of these machines. Starting with an used machine will help you develop your skills and knowledge making it a lot easier on yourself when you decide to buy a bigger-more expensive machine. After following these steps it is also recommended to sign up for a sewing class because this is a skill you will need to develop gradually and there is no one better than a sewing teacher to help you master this art, these classes are quite common and can be found in community schools which start at different levels.

- Practice makes perfect, finding easy to follow sewing patterns to practice with will help you accomplish your goals. Start by sewing on simple pieces of clothing such as a shirts or even pillow covers, avoid having to sew complex patterns or sewing on expensive pieces of clothing you have just purchased; if for some reason you fail on the fist project the piece would be ruined, so do yourself a favor and keep it as simple as possible while learning.

- Give yourself time and be patient, the practice of sewing and learning how to sew requires a calmed and relaxed person so make sure you do not take too many drinks with sugar and caffeine, this will only make things harder for you. If you need to cut part of the clothing to make it the right size make sure you measure at least twice and be as precise as possible. The first few pieces might not fit your tastes or might have something wrong (too short, too long, etc.) do not be discouraged and keep practicing, at the end you’ll see it was all worth the wait.

Right after you finish your fist project make sure to start on the next one. This will ensure all the things you have learned stay fresh in your memory and will help you to acquire new skills. Following these simple steps for beginners will ensure you learn how to sew the right way, giving you the great skill to later on customize/create your own clothing.

Fitness Walking -a Safe, Cheap and Effective Way to Fitness

Beatrice Stephenson asked:

Fitness walking have become more and more popular the last few years. From the aerobic trend to lifting weights in the gym, it seems that fitness walking has become one of the more popular forms of staying and getting in shape in the 2000’s. And sure, it’s easy to do; fits the beginner exerciser as well as the more athletic one. It can be done almost everywhere; all you need is some comfortable clothes and a good pair of shoes. The Hollywood celebs does it; the mom next door does fitness walking.

If you’re eager to loose weight, a really effective way to go, is to walk half an hour before breakfast in the morning. The calorie burning is at it’s highest in the morning, and at that time the body also burns fat, not muscle. That might be your easiest way of loosing those pounds, just to start walking. And a great way to start the day. Just put on you’re favourite radio station, audio book or music in your Ipod and get out there!

If you want to fuel up your fitness walking there are a couple of ways that I’ve tried and really liked. Heard of the Masai Barefoot Technology Shoes? Invented by the engineer Karl Muller, who suffered from severe back- and neck pain. He did some research on the Masai people, who are famous for excellent posture and no back problems, even though carrying water and equipment for miles. Karl Muller found out that walking barefoot on uneven surfaces was keeping them in such good shape. He started to develop a shoe that could imitate that way of walking, kind of like building in nature in the shoes. And he seemed to succeed, the so called MBT shoes has become really popular and extended research from health institutes all over the world proves that these shoes really do work. They increase calorie burning, improves posture, helps back-, hip- and neck problems. If you fuel up your fitness walking with a pair of MBT shoes, you will see results before you know it.

Is there anything more to do to get your fitness walking to be really effective? Well, heard of Nordic walking? This way of exercising, that includes a pair of walking sticks, is a popular way of fitness walking that started out in Scandinavia. Basically you just do the fitness walking, adding a pair of walking poles that looks like skiing sticks. They increase energy burning and heart rate, and can improve the calorie burning with up to 25%! The poles are not especially expensive (from 15$ and up) in opposite to the MBT shoes, that has a price that can be a bit eye watering at first ( from about 200$). The MBT’s are well worth it’s price though, and if you invest in both of these, you will have a full equipped gym, doing a full body workout as you do your normal fitness walk. It’s not hard to do, cheaper than your gym card or any of those fitness equipments piling up in your wardrobe, and it’s safe. Takes no private teaching, just a bit practising and you will be on your way!

Working From Home- a Guide for Beginners, Retirees and Moms

January 13, 2010 by Rachel

Daniel asked:

If you look no matter where you go money just does not stretch as far as it used to. What provided a comfortable retirement income to allow for a 20 year retirement period now lasts less than ten. This means even after you have spent your life working and saving you may not have enough to spend your golden years relaxing and enjoying the fruits of your labors. The same goes for the working class. The cost of childcare is on the rise and spaces are often limited, schedules to get children to daycare and pick them up can make working a difficult proposition.  In some cases, one whole income of a two-income household could be spent in just childcare expenses leaving many moms looking for ways to become work from home moms to lower costs.

The difficulty rises in finding work from home opportunities that have a training program for beginners, and designed to appeal to retired work from home seekers or work from home moms. This means that they need to be programs that are easy to work, do not require an excessive amount of time to watch over. This means it should be a program that allows you to do a small amount of work or blocks of work at a time and leave it but earn revenue whether you are there or not. It needs to be simple and easy to start up and not require a huge investment.

Finding a program like this can be difficult. There are thousands of works from home programs that offer a training program for beginners but only a few of them actually provide you with real and valuable information. You could spend months going through all the opportunities to find the one that is right for you. There are a few ways that you can speed the process up and get started that much faster with a better chance of success.

•  Look for work from home opportunities that cater to work from home moms.  If you are retired, look for opportunities that are going to appeal to you.

•   Make sure to thoroughly exam the products, the services offered by the parent company and the opportunity in general.

•  Look for reviews from people who have tried the program. It is important to find a good source of information. There are a number of sites and programs that do part of the research for you and organize the opportunities or help to eliminate scams and make sure to check to make sure the business is legitimate.

•  Many complaints can be found at the better business bureau so it is a good idea when looking for opportunities to check any that look good with the BBB to see if there have been any reported problems.

•  If the opportunity sells a perishable or usable product such as vitamins or health aids, consider trying the products or asking for samples.

There are plenty of opportunities available for individuals who are looking to be work at home moms or individuals who are retired work from home seekers. Even beginners can find programs that can fit into already established work schedules or into any skill level but it takes a willingness to research and review the opportunities presented to find the one that works best for you.
